The what

This project took place during my accelerator course with King’s College. It was a live employer project working alongside Creative Navy for a client of theirs.

Because of the confidentiality they held with that client, the case scenario we worked on was for 'Harley Hospital', not to be confused with Harley Street Hospital. This was a hypothetical case name that we were to focus the project around.

The why

Harley Hospital is a private medical clinic that was rapidly expanding, with clinics around the UK. Their goal was to streamline the process of booking appointments with their registered GPs as quickly and efficiently as possible.

They wanted to move away from the over-inundated telephone booking systems that are still widely used today, and introduce an efficient booking system through a proposed new app.

Our task was to create and demonstrate a user flow of how that booking system might work, making it possible to book an appointment in as few clicks as possible, while still allowing the visitor to be as detailed as they needed to be.

The how

The first actionable step was to run user interviews and competitor research. That helped in formulating specification considerations based on the pain points and gain points users experienced with other similar apps they had used.

User flow

From the information to hand a user journey flow was created to establish some potential routes users would take when using the Harley Hospital app to book an appointment.

User journey flows: 1. New appointment from scratch. 2. Replicating a past appointment. 3. Appointment recommended by doctor.
