The what

The client wanted a design centred on developing an adaptable and efficient training bench that could support a broad range of exercises without relying on the complexity of multiple machines.

The concept explored adjustable configurations that use body weight and gravity to create resistance, while also allowing additional resistance elements to be introduced from different attachment points to target specific muscle groups.

Particular attention was given to versatility, adjustment and intuitive use, with the aim of creating a single piece of equipment capable of supporting core-focused training as well as more varied full-body workouts.

Due to NDA restrictions, specific build features and dimension details cannot be disclosed, but the project focused on balancing flexibility and usability in a clear, purposeful product.

The how

The design was developed with manufacture firmly in mind, progressing beyond concept development into a production-ready solution. This included detailed technical drawings, consideration of fixings and assembly methods, and clear material specifications to support accurate costing and manufacture.

Supplier research and quotations were also gathered for the client, comparing the practical and commercial implications of manufacturing within the UK against overseas production and shipping options from outside the EU.
